Armed private investigator
Apply directly to the investigator company you wish to work for.
Requirements
All individual armed private investigators must be:
- Licensed as an unarmed private investigator or agency principal.
- At least 21 years old.
You must have a current firearms certificate issued by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. You can find a list of firearm instructors on their website.
How to apply
You must submit:
Post your license
A license must be posted at each location where the licensee operates. You may not begin this business activity until you receive a Business License listing the required license.
